In the mid-fifties, in Lujan, a city in the Province of Buenos Aires, the merge between a car workshop and a group of metallurgical engineers gave birth to ASYCO-METAL, Famiq’s first ancestor, dedicated to the manufacture and installation of special equipment for the food and textile industrial plants of the area. Their first products were tanks, reactors, drying sheds and dyeing vats in cotton factories, and vats for the production of cheese and dairy usins.

HistoryIn 1959, FAMIQ (a Spanish acronym which means Appliances and Machines Factory for the Chemical Industry) was set up with the aim to assist the industry by making special equipment as well as manufacturing stainless steel pipes, tubes and fittings.

The first big contract for providing tube fittings included the stainless steel Dansk Unions, which became established very quickly in Argentina as the standard norm to be used in milking yards and dairy equipment.

HistoryThroughout the 60’s and the 70’s, FAMIQ continued growing and expanding especially in the manufacture and commercialization of pipes, tubes and fittings, progressively abandoning the custom-made equipment manufacture.

In the early 90’s, already settled in the current address of 4723, San Martin Avenue, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, FAMIQ started to diversify its stock, importing raw materials for commercialization and for use at its production plants, swiftly reaching the leading role in tubes and fittings sales, supplying virtually all the materials to several works of magnitude.

In 1997 FAMIQ starts working in the Design and Architecture market, with its new business unit ARQUINOXIDABLE, a benchmark in stainless steel furniture and special works, as the main Argentine airports, shopping centres, banks and several design exhibitions witness.

In order to meet an increasing demand for stainless steel, in 1999 FAMIQ opened a 14,000-m2 (8,000-square-metre indoor space) distribution centre in the city of Florida (Province of Buenos Aires), thus delivering over 25,000 stainless steel items, as well as 4 branches in Rafaela and Rosario (Province of Santa Fe), Mendoza and Tucumán.

HistoryMoreover, since 2003, 3 new production units have been set up, among which there is the first factory of compliant storage Manlids, located in Rafaela (Province of Santa Fe). These products are manufactured under the business license of the French company BOYER, world leader manufacturer in the sector. This has led FAMIQ to participate in the biggest wine industry projects developed in Argentina. The other two units are oriented towards satisfying part machining needs as well as plasma cutting and pressing of plates by using a precision machine of the highest quality.
